Construction of the First Phase of Abu Musa International Passenger Terminal

The project involves the construction of the first phase of the international passenger terminal, including the passenger route from the passenger wharf to the peripheral wall of Abu Musa Port. The purpose of the project is to facilitate passenger traffic and increase the safety level of passengers on Abu Musa Island.

The project includes three sections: a terminal building with an area of 500 m² on the first floor, a 350-meter-long passenger route from the pier to the terminal, and a 1,100-meter-long peripheral wall of the port area. The structural system is Concrete – Metal.

About This Project

The First Phase of the Abu Musa International Passenger Terminal Project was developed to improve passenger transportation infrastructure and enhance the safety and efficiency of passenger movement within Abu Musa Port. The project provides the primary facilities required to connect the passenger wharf to the port entrance, supporting the expansion of maritime passenger services on the island.

The scope of work comprised three principal components: the construction of a 500 m² passenger terminal building, a 350 m-long passenger access route linking the passenger pier to the terminal, and an 1,100 m-long peripheral wall enclosing the port area. The project was executed using a composite concrete–steel structural system, providing durable infrastructure suitable for long-term operation in a marine environment.

Construction activities included 2,300 m³ of reinforced concrete, 250 tons of reinforcement, and 7,000 m² of formwork, delivering the structural framework required for the terminal facilities and associated infrastructure. Executed by Omran Maroon Engineers Co. as the Contractor, the project was completed in accordance with engineering standards, technical specifications, and contractual requirements throughout the 6-month contract period, providing a modern passenger terminal infrastructure to support safe and efficient maritime transportation.

The execution of the First Phase of the Abu Musa International Passenger Terminal Project engaged multidisciplinary engineering, technical, and construction teams throughout the project implementation. The construction of the passenger terminal building, passenger access route, and port perimeter wall required the coordinated efforts of specialists in reinforced concrete construction, structural engineering, architectural works, marine infrastructure, and site management.

The project’s integrated scope, combining terminal facilities with supporting transportation infrastructure, required efficient workforce planning, continuous technical supervision, and close coordination among engineering and construction teams to ensure construction quality, operational safety, and timely project delivery. The execution of concrete and structural works within a marine environment demanded strict adherence to engineering standards and project specifications throughout all construction phases.

As the Contractor, Omran Maroon Engineers Co. managed and coordinated all construction activities, ensuring effective workforce organization and the successful delivery of the project in full compliance with technical specifications, contractual requirements, and project schedule throughout the 6-month contract period.
