The project site is located at the southwestern corner of the Qaenat Steel Factory, approximately 50 km from Qaen City in the southern part of South Khorasan Province, Iran, covering an area of approximately 2 hectares.

The treatment plant has a capacity of 8,500 m³/day, with a planned increase to 13,100 m³/day in the project’s future development. The facility is intended to supply feed water for the RO system of the Qaenat Steel Complex.

The treatment plant is designed based on a combined sand filtration and ultrafiltration system.

About This Project

The scope of work included the construction of a water treatment plant with an initial treatment capacity of 8,500 m³/day, designed for future expansion to 13,100 m³/day to meet the long-term water demand of the Qaenat Steel Complex. The plant, covering an area of approximately 2 hectares, is based on a combined sand filtration and ultrafiltration process to provide feed water for the RO system. Construction activities comprised approximately 25,000 m³ of earthworks, 3,000 m³ of reinforced concrete, 240 tons of reinforcement steel, and 5,000 m² of formwork. The project was completed within an 18-month construction period by Omran Maroon Engineers Co. for the Qaenat Steel Complex.

The employment scope covered the full range of civil construction operations required for the water treatment plant. From site preparation and excavation to reinforced concrete works and structural installation, the project was delivered through efficient resource management and coordinated execution, ensuring the facility was constructed in accordance with the project’s technical and contractual objectives.
