The Karoon 4 Power Plant and reservoir dam is located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, approximately 180 km southwest of Shahrekord, on the Karoon River and downstream of the Arvand and Bazoft rivers.
The primary objective of this project is the generation of hydroelectric power and flood control within the upstream catchment area of Karoon 3 Dam. The project plays a strategic role in regional water management and energy production infrastructure.
Omran Maroon Engineers Co. was responsible for contract management services for the execution of this major hydropower infrastructure project, ensuring compliance with technical, operational, and contractual requirements throughout the construction phase.

Karoon 4 Dam and Hydropower Plant is a major hydroelectric infrastructure project located on the Karoon River, approximately 180 km southwest of Shahrekord, Iran. Developed to generate renewable hydroelectric power and provide flood control for the upstream catchment area of Karoon 3 Dam, the project plays a significant role in regional water resources management and energy infrastructure.
As part of this strategic development, Omran Maroon Engineers Co. provided Project Management services, overseeing contract administration and ensuring compliance with technical, operational, and contractual requirements throughout the construction phase.
The project features a 230-meter-high double-curvature concrete arch dam with a 440-meter crest length. Major construction activities included 3,000,000 m³ of rock excavation, 650,000 m³ of embankment works, 20,000 m³ of concrete placement, and 11,000 m of grout injection, reflecting the scale and technical complexity of this hydropower development.
The construction of Karoon 4 Dam and Hydropower Plant contributed to employment generation throughout the execution phase by engaging multidisciplinary engineering, technical, and construction teams. As Project Manager, Omran Maroon Engineers Co. coordinated project execution, supporting efficient workforce management and the successful delivery of this large-scale hydropower infrastructure project.
Omran Maroon Engineers Co. manages the procurement and supply of construction materials, equipment, and site resources through an integrated supply chain management system. Procurement activities are carried out in accordance with project schedules, technical specifications, and quality requirements, ensuring the timely availability of materials and equipment while supporting efficient project execution.
