The project is located approximately 55 km northwest of Masjed Soleyman City in Khuzestan Province, Iran, at the Shahid Abbasspour Dam.

The project features an Open Concrete Chute spillway with a capacity of 16,200 m³/s, equipped with 3 spillway gates. The execution works include 7,000 m³ of rock excavation, 14,000 m³ of concrete, 550 tons of reinforcement, 3,500 m² of formwork, and 13,000 m of grout injection.

The primary objective of the project is to repair the damaged flip bucket and stabilize and strengthen the spillway flanks in order to prevent potential collapse and erosion during spillway gate operation

About This Project

The Shahid Abbasspour Dam Spillway Rehabilitation Project is located approximately 55 km northwest of Masjed Soleyman, Iran, at the Shahid Abbasspour Dam. The project involved the rehabilitation and structural strengthening of the dam spillway to ensure the continued safe operation of this critical hydraulic structure.

The spillway is an open concrete chute with a discharge capacity of 16,200 m³/s, equipped with three spillway gates. Omran Maroon Engineers Co. served as the Main Contractor, executing all construction activities in accordance with the project’s technical specifications and engineering requirements.

The scope of work included 7,000 m³ of rock excavation, 14,000 m³ of concrete placement, 550 tons of reinforcement, 3,500 m² of formwork, and 13,000 m of grout injection. These activities were carried out to rehabilitate the damaged flip bucket and strengthen the spillway flanks, demonstrating the technical complexity of this hydraulic infrastructure rehabilitation project.
