Second Power Plant of Shahid Abbasspour Hydro Power Plant is located 55 Km away from northwest of Masjed Soleiman city in Khuzestan province with 1000 MW
capacity and consists of four 250 MW units which is completely underground. Its principal operation has been finished by the end of January 2004 and has been
officially inaugurated with president on 2005/5/25.
The contract of “complementary contract” has been signed to finish the rest of this huge project including repairing main cut-off, sealing tunnel of power plant (with injection of cement and chemical substances), constructing a new road of about 5 km length in order to change the direction of Izeh road and repairing buildings and asphalt of second power plant main road.
The Second Power Plant of Shahid Abbasspour Hydropower Plant is an underground hydroelectric facility comprising four 250 MW generating units with a total installed capacity of 1,000 MW. As part of the project’s completion, a complementary contract was implemented to finalize the remaining construction activities and restore critical infrastructure associated with the power plant.
Omran Maroon Engineers Co. participated in the project as the Subcontractor, carrying out construction works in accordance with the project’s technical specifications while supporting the successful completion of this major hydropower development.
The scope of work included 350,000 m³ of rock excavation, 200,000 m³ of embankment works, 28,000 m³ of concrete placement, 404 tons of reinforcement, 10,000 m² of formwork, 25,000 m of grout injection, 165 tons of structural steel works, and the construction of a 6 km access road. These activities formed part of the complementary works required to complete and rehabilitate the underground power plant infrastructure.
The complementary works for the Second Power Plant of Shahid Abbasspour Hydropower Plant provided employment opportunities for multidisciplinary engineering, technical, and construction teams throughout the project execution. Large-scale rock excavation, embankment construction, concrete works, structural steel installation, grout injection, and access road construction required the coordinated efforts of specialized professionals across multiple construction disciplines.
As the Subcontractor, Omran Maroon Engineers Co. contributed to the execution of these complementary works by supporting construction activities, coordinating technical operations, and ensuring compliance with the project’s engineering and contractual requirements throughout the 24-month construction period.
Omran Maroon Engineers Co. manages the procurement and supply of construction materials, equipment, and site resources through an integrated supply chain management system. Procurement activities are carried out in accordance with project schedules, technical specifications, and quality requirements, ensuring the timely availability of materials and equipment while supporting efficient project execution.
