The project is located approximately 5 km from Lamerd City within the Energy-Intensive Special Economic Zone of Lamerd.

The scope of works includes excavation, ground improvement, substructure and structural works, and asphalt paving of approximately 34 km of vehicular and pedestrian routes. The project also comprises the construction of a surface water drainage system, including approximately 19 km of trapezoidal stone-lined canal, approximately 1 km of covered concrete canal, and 600 m of reinforced precast concrete pipeline with an internal diameter of 1 m.

The execution of these works represents one of the most significant components of the project.

About This Project

The Lamerd Energy-Intensive Special Economic Zone Infrastructure Project comprised the execution of major site preparation, transportation infrastructure, and drainage works required for the development of the industrial zone. The project included excavation, ground improvement, substructure and structural works, and asphalt paving for approximately 34 km of vehicular and pedestrian roads, providing the essential infrastructure for future industrial developments within the zone.

A major component of the project was the construction of a comprehensive surface water drainage system, including approximately 19 km of trapezoidal stone-lined canals, 1 km of covered reinforced concrete canal, and 600 m of reinforced precast concrete pipeline with an internal diameter of 1 m, ensuring efficient stormwater collection and drainage throughout the development area.

Construction activities included 11,800,000 m³ of earthworks, 31,000 m³ of reinforced concrete, 670 tons of reinforcement, and 160,000 tons of asphalt paving. Executed by Omran Maroon Engineers Co. as the Contractor, the project was carried out in accordance with engineering standards, technical specifications, and contractual requirements throughout the 36-month construction period, delivering critical infrastructure for one of Iran’s major energy-intensive industrial development zones.

The execution of the Lamerd Energy-Intensive Special Economic Zone Infrastructure Project engaged multidisciplinary engineering, technical, and construction teams throughout the project implementation. The delivery of large-scale earthworks, road infrastructure, drainage networks, reinforced concrete structures, and asphalt paving required the coordinated efforts of specialists in highway engineering, geotechnical engineering, civil infrastructure, reinforced concrete construction, drainage systems, and construction management.

The project’s extensive scope, including 11.8 million m³ of earthworks, 34 km of road infrastructure, large-scale drainage canal construction, reinforced concrete works, and asphalt paving, required efficient workforce planning, continuous technical supervision, and close coordination among engineering and construction teams to maintain construction quality, operational safety, and adherence to the project schedule. The simultaneous execution of transportation and utility infrastructure demanded well-organized project management and effective collaboration across multiple construction disciplines.

As the Contractor, Omran Maroon Engineers Co. managed and coordinated all construction activities, ensuring effective workforce organization and the successful delivery of the project in full compliance with technical specifications, contractual requirements, and project objectives throughout the 36-month construction period.
