Ahvaz-Andimesh Road Rehabilitation and Asphalt Overlay with a total length of 150 Km includes activities such as widening technical buildings, construction of road shoulder, construction of round-trips and parking lots, construction of tardy patching, sealing and cutting of asphalt and sand asphalt with 3 cm thickness in needed places and implementing the Binder and Topeka layers, implementation of guard Rail, supply and installation of traffic signs and lining the entire path.

About This Project

The Ahvaz–Andimeshk Road Rehabilitation and Asphalt Overlay Project was undertaken to improve the capacity, safety, and serviceability of a 150 km section of the regional highway network. The project included comprehensive road rehabilitation and pavement improvement works designed to enhance driving conditions, extend pavement service life, and improve traffic safety along the route.

The scope of work comprised road widening at technical structures, shoulder construction, construction of U-turns and parking areas, localized pavement patching, crack sealing, asphalt cutting, application of a 3 cm sand asphalt layer where required, execution of binder and wearing (Topeka) asphalt layers, installation of guardrails, supply and installation of traffic signs, and complete road marking. These works provided a comprehensive rehabilitation solution for one of the region’s major transportation corridors.

Construction activities included 80,000 m³ of earthworks, 28,000 m³ of base and subbase layers, 306,000 tons of asphalt paving, and the rehabilitation of 1,250,000 m² of asphalt pavement along the 150 km roadway. Executed by Omran Maroon Engineers Co. as the Contractor, the project was completed in accordance with highway engineering standards, technical specifications, and contractual requirements throughout the 24-month construction period, improving transportation efficiency and roadway safety across the project corridor.

Employment

The execution of the Ahvaz–Andimeshk Road Rehabilitation and Asphalt Overlay Project engaged multidisciplinary engineering, technical, and construction teams throughout the project implementation. The rehabilitation of a 150 km highway corridor, including earthworks, pavement reconstruction, asphalt overlay, road widening, shoulder construction, traffic safety facilities, and road marking, required the coordinated efforts of specialists in highway engineering, pavement construction, earthworks, asphalt paving, traffic engineering, and construction management.

The project’s large construction volume, including 1,250,000 m² of asphalt pavement rehabilitation and 306,000 tons of asphalt paving, required efficient workforce planning, continuous technical supervision, and close coordination among engineering and construction teams to maintain construction quality, traffic safety, and uninterrupted project progress throughout all phases of execution.

As the Contractor, Omran Maroon Engineers Co. managed and coordinated all construction activities, ensuring effective workforce organization and the successful delivery of the project in full compliance with highway engineering standards, technical specifications, contractual requirements, and project schedule throughout the 24-month construction period.
